Two connected tools
What hit your ZIP, and what it costs you.
The first tool shows what has come through your part of Fort Worth. The second turns that into the only two numbers that matter: what the roof costs and what comes out of your pocket.

Show the figures as a table
This is demonstration data. The figures above are a realistic illustration built for this page, not a feed from NOAA or a carrier database. Before we quote anything we pull the actual verified event history for your address and hand it to you as a PDF, because your adjuster is going to ask for the date of loss and a guess is not an answer.
Claim estimator
The part nobody publishesSix steps
What the next ten weeks look like.
Day counts from our last two hundred Tarrant County claims. A clean one closes in about five weeks. A contested one takes eleven and the difference is almost always step four.
-
Day 0 to 2
Inspection and documentation
We get on the roof, chalk the test squares, photograph every slope with the date stamp on, and pull the verified event history for your address. You get the file whether you hire us or not. If there is no real damage we tell you that, which happens about a third of the time after a marginal storm.
-
Day 1 to 3
You file the claim
You file it, not us. Under Texas Insurance Code section 4102.163 a contractor may not act as a public adjuster, or advertise to adjust claims, for any property the contractor is providing or may provide services on. That holds whether or not they carry an adjuster licence. Any roofer who offers to "handle the whole thing with your adjuster" is telling you they either do not know that or do not care. We give you the file, the date of loss and the photographs. You make the call.
-
Day 5 to 21
Adjuster inspection
We meet your adjuster on the roof, every time, with our measurements and photographs already printed. Not to argue with them. To make sure the slopes we found damage on are the slopes they walk, because an adjuster who inspects two of your five planes writes a scope for two of your five planes.
-
Day 10 to 35
Scope review and supplements
The first scope is often short: drip edge missed, ridge vent priced as ridge cap, decking allowance at zero, or code items for the current Fort Worth building code left off entirely. We submit line item documentation with photographs and code citations. This is the step that decides whether you are made whole, and it is the step most contractors skip.
-
Day 20 to 50
Build
One to two days on the roof for a typical Fort Worth home. Magnets over the whole lot twice, before we leave and again the next morning. Your gutters get cleaned out because we are the reason they are full. Landscape gets tarped, not apologised for.
-
Day 35 to 75
Final invoice and depreciation release
We send the certificate of completion and the final invoice to your carrier. If you are on an RCV policy the recoverable depreciation is released to you and forwarded to us. You pay your deductible and nothing more. If you are on ACV, this is where the gap you saw in the estimator becomes real money, which is why you want to know about it now and not in week ten.
Materials
What goes back on, and what it runs.
Cost per square, installed, in Fort Worth in 2026. A square is 100 square feet. A typical home here is 22 to 32 squares, so multiply the middle column by about 26 and you are close.
| Material | Per square | Expected life | Hail rating | Premium effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 tab asphalt | $385 to $475 | 20 yr | Class 1 | None. Being phased out by most carriers in hail country. |
| Architectural laminate | $475 to $625 | 30 yr | Class 3 | None. This is the default and about 70 percent of what we install. |
| Class 4 impact resistant | $585 to $760 | 30 yr | Class 4 | 12 to 28 percent off the wind and hail portion of your premium with most Texas carriers. |
| Concrete tile | $850 to $1,300 | 50 yr | Class 3 to 4 | Sometimes. Structure has to carry the weight, which most Fort Worth framing does not. |
| Synthetic slate composite | $1,050 to $1,450 | 50 yr | Class 4 | Yes, same discount band. Looks like slate at a third of the weight. |
| Standing seam metal, 24 ga | $1,250 to $1,750 | 45 yr | Class 4 | Yes. Note that hail dents metal without breaching it, and cosmetic damage is excluded on most Texas policies. |
The Class 4 argument, with the numbers in it
On a 26 square roof, going from architectural to Class 4 costs about $3,400 more up front. If your wind and hail premium is $1,900 a year and your carrier gives you the middle of that discount band, call it 20 percent, you save about $380 a year. That is a nine year payback on the upgrade, which is roughly nothing, except for two things that matter more.
First, a Class 4 roof frequently survives a storm that would total a Class 3 one, and every claim you do not file is a claim that is not on your loss history when you shop carriers. Second, several Texas carriers have quietly moved to roof payment schedules that depreciate asphalt hard after year ten and leave impact resistant products alone. That second one is worth more than the discount and almost nobody mentions it.
Financing
If the deductible is the problem, say so.
It is a legitimate problem and it is not embarrassing. What we cannot do is make it disappear. Under Texas Business and Commerce Code section 27.02 it is a Class B misdemeanour for a contractor to waive, absorb, rebate or otherwise help you avoid paying your deductible, and Insurance Code Chapter 707 requires you to pay it and lets your carrier ask for proof that you did. A roofer who offers to make it disappear is telling you what they will do to your carrier next.

Credentials
Texas does not license roofers.
There is no state licence, no exam, no bond requirement. Anyone with a pickup and a magnet sign is legally a roofing contractor in this state, which is why after every big storm the parking lot at the Home Depot on Alta Mere fills up with out of state plates. These are the things that actually can be verified.
- ManufacturerGAF Master EliteHeld by roughly the top two percent of North American roofers. Requires proof of insurance, licensing where applicable and a reviewed complaint history, renewed annually.
- ManufacturerOwens Corning Platinum PreferredLets us write the manufacturer backed system warranty rather than the shingle only warranty most contractors can offer.
- InspectionHAAG Certified Inspector, residentialThe damage assessment standard most carriers train their own adjusters on. Two of our estimators hold it, which is why our scope and theirs usually start in the same place.
- ManufacturerCertainTeed SELECT ShingleMasterRequires a credentialed installer on site, not just on the payroll.
- Insurance$2M general liability, workers comp on every crewTexas does not require workers comp on private jobs. If an uninsured crew member is hurt on your roof, the claim can land on your homeowners policy. Ask every bidder for a certificate naming you.
- AssociationNRCA and North Texas Roofing Contractors AssociationBoth require a physical business address in the region, which rules out the storm chasers by definition.
Emergency response
Tarped before the second front arrives.
DFW storms travel in lines and the second cell is often two hours behind the first. An open roof at nine in the evening is a ceiling on the floor by midnight, and water damage from a delay is a fight with your carrier you do not need.

Free inspection. Written report either way.
If your roof is fine we will put that in writing too, and you can file it with your closing documents. We would rather be the people who told you the truth in 2026 than the people who sold you a roof you did not need.
